A guiding light

I didn't get the chance to serve with Graham whilst we were both in the RAF but the times I knew him offshore more than make up for. Far from being a dour Scotsman it was his quick wit and sardonic sense of humour that easily set him apart. I often compared myself to Graham being from similar backgrounds and the both ending up as Party chiefs and I remember on one occasion saying to him that we were pretty similar to which he raised a eyebrow and responded with that typical Scottish double positive, "Aye right!"

And of course he was right, he was one of a kind, a guiding light not only to the kids who joined the industry but also to us old sweats. Always ready with advice when needed and a knowing smile when things were done his way, the right way.

You have been taken from us far too early but I treasure the short time I knew you. Till we meet again my friend and it's your turn at the bar. PER ARDUA AD ASTRA.
